Lohan's Mother: 'Lindsay Is Just Misunderstood'
Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina has hit back at reports her daughter is an out-of-control party girl, insisting Lindsay is simply "misunderstood". The actress, who completed a month-long stay in rehab to battle her drink demons earlier this year, is frequently criticized for her wild lifestyle - particularly after photographs showing the star allegedly snorting cocaine in a hotel toilet emerged last month.
But her mother Dina is adamant the 20-year-old's reputation is over-exaggerated by the media, and believes Lindsay is just enjoying the perks of the entertainment industry.
She says, "This (premieres and parties) is the fun part of the business. She'll be 21 in a few months.
"Regardless, of course, as a parent, you set boundaries and scold them. But there are these dark stories - she is so misunderstood. All she wants to do is act and have a somewhat normal life. When you're 20, it's normal to want to go to The Ivy, to go to the hot stores, She can't live in a bubble."
Lindsay Lohan tops Maxim’s Hot 100 list
Lindsay Lohan rules. According to Maxim magazine, at least this month, she’s the hottest woman in the world.
It’s clear new beau Calum thinks Lindsay Lohan is amazing, but he’s not the only one - as a new poll has declared the young actress the world’s hottest woman, according to Maxim magazine.
The wild-child actress, who is currently romancing playboy Calum Best in the Bahamas, has topped the magazine’s eighth annual ‘Hot 100’ list.
The list is compiled the editors taking into account the hotness factor and beauty of women in film, TV, music, sports and fashion.
Maxim editor-in-chief Jimmy Jellinek said: “There is no other star in the world (who) causes more of a stir in the public eye than Lindsay. Her every move is watched and reported on.”
Lindsay has just completed a spell in rehab for alcohol addiction and has recently rekindled her romance with playboy Calum, the son of legendary footballer George Best, even introducing him to mother Dina.
Since leaving rehab she has been dogged by rumours of a serious drug habit, and pictures surfaced of her allegedly caught on camera snorting cocaine. She has denied the reports.
Jellinek described his young, male readership as being ‘obsessed’ with the 20-year-old party-girl, who spent the weekend soaking up the sun Calum Best in the Bahamas.
Celebrity sisters Ashlee and Jessica Simpson are on the list at No 16 and No 41, respectively. Ashley Olsen, half of the mogul acting twins, placed 37th, while sister Mary-Kate didn’t make the cut. The cover of the Hot 100 June issue features a picture of No 29: Sarah Silverman. agencies
